THANK YOU to all those who voted in the Spring Election, we had a great victory with almost 75% of the vote!
I am so excited to represent and advocate for students on the Madison Common Council and look forward to continuing our discussions about issues that effect the campus and downtown community as well as Madison as a whole. Please feel free to contact me anytime about ideas, problems, or concerns you may have! Hope to hear from you soon!

Why I am running for the Madison City Council
Since arriving on the UW Madison campus, I became involved as a student advocate and organizer. I have represented students on the ASM Student Council and engaged our campus in the political process through my leadership in Students for Barack Obama. As a result of this work, I have learned the power of the student voice and heard the concerns students have not only regarding national issues but also those involving our community here in Madison.
Now I want to use my passion and energy to represent you on the Madison City Council. We need a progressive and pragmatic voice to address serious issues like campus and downtown safety, landlord accountability, transportation efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
I am proud to have the endorsements of:
- Ald. Eli Judge, Current 8th District Alder
- Madison Mayor Dave Cieslewicz
- University of Wisconsin - Madison College Democrats
- Dane County Democratic Party
- The Badger Herald Editorial Board and on Video!
- The Daily Cardinal Editorial Board
- South Central Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO
- Madison Professional Police Officers Association
- State-Langdon Neighborhood Association
- Downtown Madison Inc.
- Sierra Club
- AFSCME People Conference
- The Wisconsin State Journal
- The Capital Times
President Obama has called on our generation to continue to be active and engaged in our communities beyond the campaign, and serving on the Common Council would allow me to have a continued, hands-on impact to improve the Madison campus community. Through my experiences on campus and in Madison I have seen the impact that we, especially as young people, can have when we join together our desire and enthusiasm to serve our community.
Let's work together to make Madison a place we are proud to call our city.
Sincerely,
Bryon
P.S. When I first announced my candidacy for the Madison Common Council, I released a YouTube video introducing myself and have also created a Facebook group for supporters! Take a look:
